Born and raised in the UK, I’ve lived in Bad Saulgau, Upper Swabia, since 1981. After working for several years in technical documentation and a short career break to bring up a family I took the opportunity offered to me to work together with the teaching staff of the Toin-Gakuen-School in Bad Saulgau where I coached pupils and teachers to help them maintain or improve their English. Requests from schools and kindergartens in the area followed and eventually the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Ravensburg offered me a position as a lecturer in business English. It was then I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in teaching English to adults and undertook a professional development course in the UK to qualify myself as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages (CELTA).
After sixteen years of experience with learners of all ages and abilities, I offer in-company training to medium-sized businesses in and around Biberach/Riss, lecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Biberach and the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Ravensburg as well as being an honorary member of the examining board at the CCI (IHK) Bodensee-Oberschwaben in Weingarten since 2008.
